Our Interactive Game Developer with a strong focus on educational content is an innovate and passional team player who believes in the power of games to transform the way people learn, grow, and interact with new concepts in English as a Second Language (ESL) setting. This role will emphasize language acquisition, cultural awareness, and pedagogical strategies in ESL game development. Our focus is on developing games that inspire learning, creativity, and skill development. This role collaborates with game designers, ESL educators, language experts, and artists to create interactive experiences that engage users while promoting learning and cognitive development.

1. ESL Game Design & Development
• Develop Language-Focused Games: Create interactive games specifically designed to help players learn English, including grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, writing, and listening skills.
• Game Mechanics for Language Learning: Design and implement mechanics that encourage language immersion, repetition, and active participation in language tasks.
• Cultural Context Integration: Include cultural scenarios in gameplay to expose learners to English-speaking environments, customs, and everyday situations that improve language comprehension.
Collaboration with ESL Experts
-Work with ESL Educators: Collaborate with ESL teachers, linguists, and language experts to ensure the game aligns with current language-learning methodologies
• Customizable Learning Levels: Develop adjustable difficulty settings that cater to different proficiency levels (beginner, intermediate, advanced) and offer personalized learning experiences.
3. User Experience (UX) & Accessibility for ESL Learners
• Optimize for ESL Learners: Ensure the game is intuitive and accessible for non-native English speakers, with clear instructions, visual aids, and user-friendly interfaces.
• Incorporate Speech Recognition: Implement speech recognition features to help users practice pronunciation and improve their spoken English in real time.
• Support Multilingual Users: Include options for localized versions of the game, supporting key languages for learners from diverse backgrounds.
4. Focus on Listening & Speaking Skills
• Listening Exercises: Integrate various listening comprehension tasks, such as audio dialogues, pronunciation drills, and voice-activated responses to build listening skills.
• Speaking Tasks: Develop voice interaction features where players can practice speaking English and receive feedback on pronunciation, fluency, and grammar.
5. Content Creation & Language Learning Resources
• Interactive Lessons: Develop mini-games and interactive exercises that introduce language concepts, such as vocabulary quizzes, sentence construction games, and word association challenges.
• Real-Life Scenarios: Create scenarios that simulate real-life situations where users need to use English, such as shopping, ordering food, or traveling.
• Grammar and Vocabulary Building: Integrate fun and engaging ways to practice grammar rules, expand vocabulary, and strengthen sentence construction.

6. Performance Tracking & Feedback
• Track Learner Progress: Use data to track user progress and language acquisition, identifying areas where learners excel or struggle.
• Provide Instant Feedback: Offer real-time, constructive feedback on users' language skills, such as grammar mistakes, vocabulary gaps, or pronunciation issues.
• Adaptive Learning: Adjust difficulty levels and tasks based on player performance to create a personalized learning path.
7. Testing & Improvement
• Conduct ESL Playtesting: Organize playtests with ESL learners to identify usability and educational challenges, ensuring the game is both effective and enjoyable.
• Continuous Improvement Based on Data: Continuously improve the game based on player feedback, learning outcomes, and testing results.
8. Research & Innovation in Language Learning
• Stay Updated with ESL Trends: Research the latest trends and methods in ESL pedagogy, including emerging technologies like AI and VR, to integrate into the game.
• Innovate Learning Experiences: Experiment with new features like immersive environments (e.g., virtual worlds for cultural and language practice), adaptive learning algorithms, or gamified assessments.
9. Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain Documentation: Keep clear, concise documentation regarding the game design, educational objectives, and language learning principles used in the development process.
• Provide Progress Updates: Regularly report on the educational impact of the game, including data on language skill improvements, engagement levels, and areas for further enhancement.

This position requires your full attention and commitment. If you intend to juggle multiple jobs simultaneously, this role may not be suitable for you. Remote

  • Minimum of 3 years in game development or interactive digital content creation
    Proven expertise in using Unity and/or Unreal Engine
  • Proficiency in 3D software such as Hype, Adobe Dimensions, Blender, Maya, or Cinema 4D.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree
    A degree in Computer Science, Game Design, Educational Technology or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent Collaboration & Communication

  • Strong creative and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Preferred: Experience in AR/VR environments.
